Mouvedre is popular Spanish red grape variety grown all over the world. It is known as Mataro in Portugal and Monastrell in Spain. It makes powerful tannic wines with rich plums and red fruit flavours. Mouvedre has good aging potential. It develops well with age and picks up complex flavours and aromas. It blends quite well with Grenache and Syrah.
