Barbera

Barbera is one of the most planted red grape varieties in Italy. Although it is originally from Italy, it is also planted in the USA, Brazil, Australia, Argentina and Uruguay.

Barbera is relatively a late ripening grape variety and prefers warmer clilmates. It gives good yields and produces wines with deep colour, low tannins and high levels of acidity.
